How Do Patients Obtain a Hearing Aid?

Before obtaining hearing aids, an examination by an ear specialist is recommended. Then, an evaluation of your hearing will be completed. Based on evaluation results, the advantages and limitations of basic analog, programmable and digital hearing aids will be discussed.

Once a hearing aid has been recommended, the hearing aids are ordered by the audiologist from the manufacturer. The audiologist checks the fit of the hearing aids and adjusts them to fit the hearing loss. An orientation to the care, use and maintenance of the hearing aids will be completed. After the hearing aid is purchased the 30-day trial period begins. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled as needed to ensure that the wearer receives the most benefit possible from the hearing aids.

The patient is encouraged to use the hearing aid in a variety of listening situations to experience the benefits. If the hearing aids are returned within the trial period, the cost of the hearing aid is refundable. A dispensing fee is not refundable.

Price depends on the size of the hearing aid in each technology level. Services and warranty perios vary with technology and are included in the price of the hearing aid.
